Chiropractic Care and How It Fits Into Your Treatment Plan

Is chiropractic care a beneficial treatment option for you? If this is your first time seeking chiropractic care, you may feel both anxious and excited. With any new medical procedure, you may have questions, concerns, and fears. We are here to help alleviate the stress you may be feeling regarding natural healthcare practices. We understand that it may be difficult to overcome your concerns, so we are here to support you every step of the way!

Firstly, it is important to know that chiropractors are trained medical professionals. Chiropractic is a widely accepted treatment option for many types of pain. Chiropractors are medical professionals, just like your primary care physician. They specialize in all-natural pain relief through the use of manual therapy, instruments, and other tools. Our chiropractor, Dr. Tom Kessinger, has been certified in chiropractic for over 10 years and has provided pain relief to many patients.

Secondly, our clinic offers many treatment options within the realm of chiropractic. Dr. Kessinger will gladly perform a manual adjustment (traditional chiropractic service) on a patient if that is indeed the proper treatment modality for that particular patient. Our patient base includes many individuals who do not receive hands-on adjustments. The majority of our patients receive chiropractic care through the use of an arthrostim (an instrument which gently taps the spine to help mobilize the joint spaces), and a percussor (a massage-like tool which helps relieve tension and tightness in the muscles). Also, our clinic utilizes ancillary treatments, such as decompression and laser therapy to provide further treatment and relief of symptoms.

Lastly, at Pain Relief Partners, we believe that the best treatment option is the one that helps improve your quality of life. We offer injection therapies with our ARNP, Stephanie Jones, and alternative treatments with Dr. Kessinger, including chiropractic. We typically recommend a combination of injections and alternative treatments to give you the best pain relief possible. We integrate both types of care, because we want to be able to offer you a variety of treatment options that best suit your needs!

While our clinic is definitely concerned about relieving your pain, we’re also concerned with improving your function. When a patient is in pain, they tend to focus on their pain more than other aspects of healing. Chiropractic care and injection therapies are designed to help patients improve function and quality of life, while aspects of pain are also being attended to. We care about what you’re missing out on in your day to day life due to the pain you’re feeling and the limitations it’s imposing.

Prior to starting care, Dr. Kessinger will sit down with you one on one and discuss what pain relief would mean for you. Does it mean enjoying some of your favorite hobbies again? Does it mean traveling more? Does it mean walking from your front door to your mailbox? Your goals are important to us and chiropractic care can be a phenomenal option for helping improve your quality of life.

We are here to answer any questions you may have about starting chiropractic care, and/or other care options we provide. We hope to develop a positive working relationship with you, so that we can better understand your personal pain relief goals.
