If you suffer from pain and discomfort, you may have been told that a chiropractor can help you find relief. Chiropractic care is an ideal method of treating pain related issues for many reasons. Instead of masking the pain with prescribed medications, chiropractors identify the source and work to treat the cause of the problem. There is no wondering if it is safe to take your medication and drive. There is no concern about the medicine making you drowsy and causing you to fall asleep at work. There is no worrying that your new medication may have a dangerous reaction with a medication you are already taking.
At Pain Relief Partners, our Chiropractor, Dr. Thomas Kessinger, has over a decade of experience treating patients, and he makes the safety and well-being of our patients his highest priority. He works well with our team and he and our Nurse Practitioner, Stephanie Jones, collaborate on treatment plans to determine the best method of care for each patient. Our whole team strives to help each patient find pain relief and live their highest quality of life.
As nice as it is to know that chiropractic care can translate into pain relief, you may have some concerns. Chiropractic adjustments and alignments sound like difficult procedures, and they can be dangerous if they are not performed by a trained and licensed chiropractor. You may wonder if the chiropractic care we offer is safe. Is it? Yes. Why? Continue reading on to find out!
Chiropractic care is natural, not artificial. As previously stated, many people are prescribed a regimen of rest and medication for pain relief. Rest is natural, but prescribed and over-the-counter pain relievers are not, and they have many side effects and risks. You want the pain treated, not a new set of problems to deal with because of the treatment you have been given. Dr. Kessinger uses his hands and specialized tools to treat you – without the risk of medications that can cause unwanted reactions in your body.
If additional help is needed beyond a chiropractic adjustment, Dr. Kessinger may recommend natural remedies and supplements, home exercises, or stretching programs. At Pain Relief Partners, we also offer other treatment modalities, making us unique from many offices. You also have the option of seeing Stephanie Jones, our Nurse Practitioner, to receive injection therapy. This is often done in conjunction with chiropractic treatments and can be very helpful in relaxing the muscles before receiving the ancillary treatments we offer, such as non-surgical decompression.
Chiropractic care is non-invasive, and Dr. Kessinger uses a gentle and cautious approach with his treatments. He uses two tools in particular to help with adjustments in people who are at risk for fracture. The first is arthrostim. This tool is like “a little jackhammer” that gently adjusts the bones without “cracking” or aggressive manipulation of the joints. The other tool is a percussor, which is often the favorite part of a treatment plan. The percussor provides deep tissue treatment helping to release bound up, tight muscles to allow for more blood flow and faster healing.
Occasionally, skeletal pain may result from a fracture or a more serious medical complication. If it is appropriate, an x-ray or other imaging will be ordered to help diagnose the cause of the pain and direct the treatment plan. If surgery is needed, you will be referred to a qualified surgeon, but we always hope we can help you without the need for surgical intervention. In fact, at Pain Relief Partners, we have been able to help many patients who have been told surgery is the only way for them to find pain relief.
Come see us at Pain Relief Partners to learn what we can do to help you lower your pain. Our procedures are performed in our clinic, not a hospital, and many of our patients tell us that coming to our clinic is like being with family. At our clinic, you will receive safe and effective treatments to help you live your life with less pain!
