What is Knee Osteoarthritis Treatment?

At Pain Relief Partners we offer natural knee injections as a non-surgical alternative to knee pain treatment. According to the Arthritis Foundation, osteoarthritis (OA) impacts about 27 million Americans and is the most common chronic joint condition. In healthy joints, cartilage, a firm, rubbery substance, covers each end of the bone allowing the bones to glide with cushion during joint movement. In OA, there is less cartilage present, or in extreme cases, no cartilage present, causing pain and swelling in the joint. This worsens over time, and as the bones break down, bone spurs can form and chips of bone can break off and float in the joint space causing additional pain and inflammation. OA affects people of all ages, but it is most common in people over 65 years old. Risk factors are increasing age, previous joint injury, overuse of the joint, weak muscles around the joint, obesity, and genes. 50% of adults will develop OA of their knees in their lifetime.

Our Natural Knee Injection Treatments

At Pain Relief Partners, our health care professionals have a variety of treatments available to offer you the best possible non-surgical treatment to lower you knee pain. These natural knee injections are used successfully in treating osteoarthritis as well as other knee conditions. With each patient, we design an individual treatment plan which may include knee injections. HA is a substance that occurs naturally in your body and it helps provide cushion in your joints. It is currently FDA approved for use in the knee joint and can be injected in a series of 3 or 5 depending on individual insurance coverage. It does not restore bone or cartilage, but it does act as a short-term prevention against additional bone and cartilage loss and causes your body to produce more of its own HA.

To supplement injection therapy, we use deep tissue laser therapy and/or chiropractic care as appropriate on a case by case basis. At Pain Relief Partners, we hope to offer you treatment that will help you recover as quickly as possible so you are able to start leading a more active lifestyle again! Typically our knee treatment plans can be as little as one injection or 3-6 weeks (HA). These treatments are used to reduce inflammation, increase range of motion, increase flexibility, increase knee strength, and improve function.
